VALLE MONTE LEAGUE SERVES AS A DUCK BUDDY YET AGAIN!
For the third year, members of Valle Monte League, Inc. served as a Duck Buddy for the Fourth Annual Silicon Valley Duck Race, held at Vasona Lake Park in Los Gatos. This fundraising effort benefits Jewish Family Services as well as all the Duck Buddies and the agencies they serve to enlist with the goal of finding 15,000 yellow rubber ducks an adoptive “parent”. The ducks are labeled and then “dumped” into the creek to waddle toward the finish line….quite the sight from the banks of Vasona Creek, to be sure!

This all day, fun-filled activity held on June 12, 2011, had a record attendance of nearly 5,000 people, and the race began promptly at 2:00 PM. Prizes of all sizes were distributed to the winners of the ducks who crossed the finish line in sequential order. For a listing of the prizes, see www.siliconvalleyduckrace.org for more information.

The top adoptive agency was San Jose Blue Star Moms, and Valle Monte League, Inc. came in 4th, of the 17 nonprofits enrolled as Duck Buddies. Thank you for your support of this fundraiser, and we hope your willingness to participate continues for the race next year!
