Valle Monte League hosts annual elegant event

Thousands await Valle Monte League’s annual Christmas Tree Elegance and the
organization’s 41st year was no exception—a must attend event of the season. “I
try to explain to people what our Christmas Tree Elegance is like,” said Valle
Monte League President Cathy De Maria who presided over this year’s Christmas
Magic theme. “It’s an adult Disneyland where all the pretty people go to start

The Valle Monte League’s Christmas Tree Elegance event celebrated its 40th
anniversary in style with this year’s “The Jewels of Christmas.” Members raised
about $500,000 in addition to the $7.5 million they previously earned to assist
mental health agencies in Santa Clara County.

Christmas Tree Elegance celebrates 40 years

"The Jewels of Christmas" was the theme of the 40th annual Christmas Tree
Elegance celebration presented by the Valle Monte League at San Jose's Double
Tree Hotel. The four-day event featured eight sold-out parties starting with a
champagne brunch on Nov. 27 and ending with a grand ball on Nov. 30. Brunches,
teas and an office party featured a professionally produced Macy's fashion show

Valle Monte League dazzles with annual ‘Christmas Tree Elegance’
fund-raiser

For 40 years, the Valle Monte League has produced a shining gem of fund-raisers
with its eagerly anticipated “Christmas Tree Elegance” events.
This year was no different. Held Nov. 27-30 at the Doubletree Hotel, local
individuals and businesses donated gorgeous trees adorned with seasonal
ornaments and fabulous gifts. To date, the events have raised $7.5 million
promoting better mental health within the community to their designated
beneficiaries such as Family and Children Services, John XXIII Multi-Service
Center, the Centre for Living with Dying and the Alzheimer’s Activity
