John XXIII Multi-Service Center

John XXIII Multi-Service Center, located in downtown San Jose, has been a “home away from home” for low-income and isolated seniors since 1964.  Here over 1,800 seniors each year find a welcoming gathering place, as well as a wide range of wellness, education, enrichment and social services that maximize their health and promote their full participation in the life of the community. Our mission is to promote the dignity and self-determination of elders, support their health and well-being, and encourage life-long learning, while fostering a community where seniors of all cultures and beliefs can thrive.

Through funds provided by the Valle Monte League, Inc., a total of 500 participants receive prevention and early intervention health services in the on-site nursing clinic and through comprehensive case management to identify and treat mental health issues such as anxiety and depression, and prevent or minimize occurrences of serious and devastating mental illness.   Supported since 1971
